ORTLIEB was registered by Hartmut Ortlieb on 1 April 1982 and grew from a one-man operation in a Nuremberg backyard into an internationally active company. Still owner-managed and independently financed, it is known for waterproof, robust products made in Germany and backed by its own repair service.
