Description

Salewa began in Munich on 8 July 1935 as a saddlery and leather goods company, its name formed from the German words for saddler, leather and wares. It later became known for mountaineering innovations such as its adjustable crampon, and after joining Heiner Oberrauch's Oberalp Group it moved its headquarters to Bolzano.
